It’s Friday and around here that means we’re doing cocktail hour, probably in pajamas. And while I live with a skilled bartender who can mix up just about any beverage offhand, I’m pretty consistent with my cocktail request lately, a Negroni. If you know me, you know it’s my fave, it’s bitter, orange flavored and prefect to chill out with before dinner.
I also happen to like this beverage because it’s super easy to make, just equal parts Campari, Gin and Sweet Vermouth, just make sure you get quality ingredients for the later two. I’m currently linking the combo with the Cape May Gin (Shoutout to my Dad!) and the Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth, delish.
Oh, and you should also have it with these crispy chickpeas…
Negroni
Ingredients
- 1 oz gin
- 1 oz sweet vermouth carpano antica formula
- 1 oz campari
- orange zest
- ice
Instructions
- So to make this, my first recommendation would be to get yourself a live-in bartender. If that’s not the case, rest assured, if I can make this drink, you can too.
- Combine the gin, vermouth and Campari over ice, stir until well chilled, then garnish with an orange zest. I would recommend twisting it to release some of the orange oils over the top of your drink, then run it around the rim of your glass and toss it in that drink.
- That’s it. Drink up!
